The Donbass War Restarting.

Sadly it appears that the Donbass War is restarting. That the Ukraine Government was simply trying to buy time, lick their wounds and plead for more money from their Western sponsors.

The Clashes are now persistent and intensifying and the Novorussian forces are now apparently conducting their own offensive guerrilla operations in response to the Ukraine Forces constant provocations. as this Kazzura video seems to indicate.

The best thing obviously would be for the war to end and never restart and for the Novorussians and the Ukraine Government to come to an amicable and political long term solution.

Some Western commentators opine that Russia has invaded East Ukraine and is trying…

ISIS Smashes Priceless Ancient Statues In Gut-wrenching

We were recently treated to wall to wall coverage of sledge hammer wielding ISIS men smashing up ancient statues in the Mosul Museum. The act looked, and was described by western media as, barbaric.

Job done, the Bogeymen are not only coming to get you but your statues too!

But some more discerning news outlets did follow up with a few questions and observations, not least, that…

ISIL ‘Franchises’ Pop Out Across Africa / Sputnik International

2012: What's the 'real' truth?

Over the course of last nine months, the Islamic State has expanded out of its original borders in Syria and Iraq and now has presence in several African countries, Le Monde reported.

Two days ago, Nigeria’s militant group Boko Haram pledged its allegiance to the Islamic State.

“We announce our allegiance to the Caliph… and will hear and obey in times of difficulty and prosperity, in hardship and ease. We call upon Muslims everywhere to pledge allegiance to the Caliph.” – said an English translation of Boko Haram’s audio broadcast in Arabic.

The caliph, identified in the Boko Haram’s message, is Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State and self-proclaimed caliph of the entire Muslim world.

Boko Haram is the latest ISIL addition. The group already has working “franchises” in Afghanistan, Pakistan and North Africa.

In September of 2014, an Algerian jihadist group made entrance onto the scene of international jihadism after the murder of French tourist Herve Gourdel in Kabylie. Ten days prior to that incident, the group announced their allegiance…

RT: Maduro: US trying to ‘defeat’ Venezuela govt with sanctions, we’ll fight back

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has accused the US of trying to “defeat” and “intervene in” his government, after Washington labeled Caracas a national security threat and implemented sanctions against seven of its officials.

“President Barack Obama, representing the US imperialist elite, has personally decided to take on the task of defeating my government and intervening in Venezuela to control it,” Maduro said in a national TV address. “That’s why they have taken today’s measure.”

Maduro called the move a “colossal mistake” and “imperialist arrogance” similar to that of former US leaders such as Richard Nixon and George W. Bush. He stressed on Monday that will be asking the National Assembly for decree powers through a so-called Enabling Law to “preserve peace” and “fight imperialism.”

President Obama Declares Venezuela “A Threat to National Security”, Seeks Regime-Change

2012: What's the 'real' truth?

By Eric Zuesse

March 10, 2015

The Obama Administration, which in 2009 provided the crucial assistance that enabled the progressive democratic President of Honduras to be overthrown and a junta of oligarchs to replace him; and which in 2014 perpetrated a bloody coup that replaced the corrupt but democratically elected Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, replaced by a rabidly anti-Russian equally corrupt Government, and thus sparked Ukraine’s civil war against the area of Ukraine that had voted 90% for Yanukovych; is now again trying to overthrow Venezuela’s democratically elected President, Nicolas Maduro.

Reuters on Monday March 9th headlined “U.S. Declares Venezuela a National Security Threat, Sanctions Top Officials,” and their report gives its closing word to an opposition politician, whom Obama supports and who says: ”It’s not a problem with Venezuela or with Venezuelans; it’s a problem for the corrupt ones” (i.e., Maduro and his Government).

Ukraine Military Gets Boost With UK Armored Vehicles Delivery / Sputnik International

2012: What's the 'real' truth?

The vehicles — known as Saxons — came without weapons, which Ukraine plans to add before use by the army.

Last month the press service of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) said 20 Saxon armored vehicles had already arrived in the country and another 55 would be shipped shortly.

NCDC Secretary Oleksander Turchynov said during a visit to the National Guard Training Center that although the armored vehicles need some readjustment they would be adapted for the Ukrainian army.

Turchynov added that the vehicles would enter service in the Ukrainian army as soon as they had been tested at a training range.

Meanwhile, General Sir Richard Dannatt, who served as Britain’s  Chief of the General Staff between 2006 and 2009, believes the Saxon armored vehicles are “quite useless.”

“My concern is the inadequate nature of these vehicles which I ordered out of British Army front line service when I was Commander in Chief Land Command 2005-2006. They were withdrawn from Iraq and never deployed in southern Afghanistan,” Dannatt told The Daily…

RT: ‘We did what we had to do’: Putin opens up on Crimea reunification plan

The decision to give Crimea an opportunity to choose if it wants to be a part of Russia again was made after an unofficial survey showed the majority of Crimeans would back reunification, Vladimir Putin revealed in an interview to a Russian TV channel.

The interview is part of a documentary, “Crimea. The Road Back Home,” scheduled to be aired by the Rossiya One TV channel. In the film, the Russian president has given new insights into the events leading up to last year’s referendum in Crimea.

The vote took place after days of violence on the streets of Kiev, which came to be known as the Maidan revolution. The government was overthrown in February 2014, and the Ukrainian president fled the capital.

The highly volatile situation prompted President Putin to convene an urgent meeting with his national security and defense chiefs, during which a crucial decision was taken.

“It was the night of the 22nd,” Putin told Rossiya One’s Andrey Kondrashov. “We were done by 7 am. And I won’t conceal it, when we were saying goodbye, I told my colleagues – there were four of them – that the situation in Ukraine has evolved in such a way that we have to start work on returning Crimea to being a part of Russia. We couldn’t abandon the territory and people who live there, couldn’t just throw them under this nationalist bulldozer.”

The Russian president went on to explain that the referendum, on joining Russia, would not have gone ahead without broad public support on the peninsula.

So, he ordered an unofficial poll to be conducted there.

“We found out that 75 percent of respondents there wanted [Crimea] to join Russia,” Putin said.

Only then was the referendum was given the green light. There were two choices offered to the voters: to say yes either to the reunification of Crimea with Russia or to Crimea having more autonomy as a part of Ukraine.

“The ultimate goal was not to seize Crimea or annex it,” Putin said. “The ultimate goal was to let people express their opinion on how they wanted to live further.”

The president emphasized that he was ready to support any decision taken by the people of Crimea.

“We know the results of the referendum. And we did what we had to do,” the Russian leader said.

The referendum took place on March 16, 2014. Around 96 percent voted in favor of reunification with Russia. Two days later, Russia and Crimea cemented reunification with a treaty.

Russian officials have dismissed criticism of the Crimean referendum, citing Kosovo’s unilateral declaration of independence as an example of self-determination praised by the West.

The issue has recently been touched upon again by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

“When it comes to international law and the attention it gets in particular in connection with the issue of Crimea, we would want our Western colleagues to have no less enthusiasm in dealing with other events in recent history,” Lavrov said.

“These include OSCE members bombing another OSCE member, I mean Yugoslavia, the situation with the unilateral declaration of independence by Kosovo – without any referendums. No one then even bothered to ask why it happened without a referendum. And also the invasion of Iraq under a fake pretext, and the rude violation of the UN Security Council mandate concerning Libya. A country has been destroyed and now everyone is trying to glue its pieces back together and is asking oneself of how not to allow disintegration of other countries in the region.”

President Assad ontmoet Franse parlementsleden in Damascus
